A renowned region. an heirloom bean. a superlative estate. san sebastian has been a favorite in our tasting room for over 30 years. aromatic yet powerful, reminiscent of fine bittersweet chocolate, a true coffee aristocrat. in the world of coffee-producing countries, and among the ranks of the finest coffee farms, there has to be one that’s the very best. there are few places more suited to coffee production than the antigua valley of guatemala, 5000 feet up, tucked among three massive volcanoes. there are even fewer places where the heirloom variety of arabica coffee known as bourbon produces such sublimely sweet coffee fruit, where the dry climate slows growth just enough so the beans yield tantalizingly complex flavor. and there's just one farm where everything comes together just about perfectly. welcome to finca san sebastian. we've been buying from this farm for over 30 years and this has been a favorite in our tasting room since then: an indication of superlative, consistent quality. in the cup this coffee achieves the remarkable feat of tasting both potent and refined, with aromatic grace and shades of the best bittersweet chocolate. we buy from many of the great antigua farms, as our finest blends attest, but for our single-origin offering we reserve the best of the best, peet's guatemala san sebastian..
